Can you summarize your research in a simple way?
I study how climate change is altering ocean currents.
How long have you conducted fieldwork?
I have conducted fieldwork since 2013, when I was an undergraduate first getting into research. I have conducted sea-going fieldwork since 2016.
Where have you conducted fieldwork? Which is your favorite?
I have conducted fieldwork on the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico and in the Indian Ocean, Southern Ocean, Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea, and Florida Straits. My favorite was the Indian Ocean, because there is still so much that we don’t know.
What is your favorite part about conducting fieldwork?
I love being part of a team of people who are working together towards the same research goal.
