ADVANCEing FieldSafety Workshops

The content you will be, or have already been, exposed to through the ADVANCEing FieldSafety online course will help you learn new tools and strategies to build and sustain a safe, welcoming field environment. However, if you are interested in learning how to operationalize the content from the online course in the field, we highly recommend that you and your field team take part in one of our ADVANCEing FieldSafety workshops.

The workshops build on the content of the ADVANCEing FieldSafety online and will help you and your team develop and practice course content such as building statements for codes of conduct and decision-making and bystander intervention techniques through real-world scenario discussions.

The ADVANCEing FieldSafety workshops are currently available to field teams participating in the AFS research study. If your field team is interested, please express your interest by completing this survey or emailing fieldsafe@colorado.edu.

Another way to attend AFS workshops is for your organization to partner with the AFS program to have your members, employees, or students take the AFS training program, which would include workshops offered specifically for your group. If you are interested in partnering, email fieldsafe@colorado.edu.

What People Are Saying about ADVANCEing FieldSafety Workshops

  • "Thanks ADVANCEing FieldSafety for an excellent Bystander Intervention workshop today! It's so important to invest time together working on how we show up for one another, to create the culture we want. For all operational/ science/ fieldwork oriented teams, I very highly recommend checking out the online ADVANCEing FieldSafety Training Program which provides extensive toolkits and covers field safety, norms agreements, anti-harassment, and bystander intervention specifically though a field campaign perspective."
  • "These were great workshops. I learned a lot. Thanks so much to the ADVANCEing FieldSafety team!"
